Bed Time Stories

Bed Linens, Laundry Lines, Night Lights| Space Specific | 2015

Space is a practiced place. (Michel de Certeau,  The Practice of Everyday Life, 1984)

Bed Time Stories,  demonstrates the bed as a place of tension. Here, the tenderness of the bed, the Pleasance or sorrow of it, is not in the object’s material but in the space that it exists and the bodies that occupy it.

Are the sick or injured truly able to rest in a neat bed? Can the bodies of displaced people ever rest in beautiful beds as they did in their family home? It is left to the viewer’s imagination to narrate their bedtime stories.
